The House of Commons is seeking an experienced Head of Design for the parliamentary estate
Your new company
My Client, one of the key central government bodies with one of the most prestigious estates in the UK is seeking a new Head of Design on 12 month Fix Term Contract. You will work in the heart of Westminster on some of key heritage buildings.
Your new role
You will lead and manage the technical engineering, and architecture teams within
Parliament's Design Authority, whose team leaders are responsible for a range of
estate services including architecture, conservation, workplace, fire engineering and building services
engineering and environmental sustainability. You will also have the responsibility for revising and
overseeing the implementation of engineering standards, design reviews from
projects, development of the estate infrastructure and the discharge of planning and
listed building consents. You will be accountable for ensuring the buildings and engineering strategies and standards are relevant and delivered, you will further contribute to a suitable and cost effective environment for an effective Parliament. Success in this role will be secured through working collaboratively within the Parliament's Design Authority and with key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need a strong background in M&E/ Building Services and infrastructure design including full delivery at a senior level. A background of heritage works would be preferred. You will need to hold industry related design qualifications, a project management qualification would be preferred
What you'll get in return
A salary of £75,953 to £95,964 including full civil service package with the opportunity with a permanent opportunity is on offer at the end of this contract.
