Job Introduction

Sodexo's team have an excellent opportunity for a Building Management Systems Manager (BMS Manager) to join us working with our client based from Belfast.

In this role you will ensure the effective operation of Building Management Systems. You will provide expert knowledge, guidance and support in their Carbon Management Strategy, operation of the BMS, and to ensure the safe and timely completion of planned and reactive maintenance.

You will be an expert in managing a BMS with the relevant qualifications and have an excellent understanding of working to support Sustainability targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge, guidance and operation of the BEMS and energy management system.
  • Lead and direct internal staff and contractors in the planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of the BEMS and any system or software upgrades to maintain operational requirements within each of their facilities.
  • Complete fault diagnosis and rectification on the whole range of BEMS equipment.
  • Identify HVAC performance issues via the BEMS and implement solution either remotely via BEMS or through reactive works orders.
  • Respond to and help resolve Helpdesk work requests within specified timescales.
  • Escalate issues found during maintenance requiring capital investment, e.g. replacement items following repeat maintenance visits, PPMs.
  • To oversee and assure the periodic review of Set Points against critical design guidance and best practise , and recommend proposed changes.
  • Identify potential systems software and hardware issues that may lead to unnecessary failure of services, thereby minimising risk, disruption and inconvenience to building users.
  • Assist with the delivery of the reporting information to the Client, including utility, waste and sustainability performance and financial metrics.
  • Ensure any design, specification, supervision and financial cost control for any works carried out on the BEMS and Building Controls meet the requirements of the client and is within any financial constraints.
  • Provide information as requested for risk registers, condition surveys and databases.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing and operating building controls and BEMS, ideally gained using BEMS controls houses including Schneider (BAS 2800+, Sigma & EcoStruxure), Trend 963, and Cylon.
  • Hold a recognised Level 4 qualification (or higher) in a related subject e.g. Electrical or Building Services Engineering, Maintenance, Controls, or an equivalent level of knowledge
  • Experience using energy metering and energy management systems, ideally Team Sigma
  • Competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret large complex data sets.
  • Ability to produce technical reports.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of scripting, for example Visual Basic.
  • BCIA Advanced Technical Certificate
