Thermal modeller

We're looking for a Thermal Modeller specialist to join our Client's fast-expanding Sustainability team. Our Client is a dedicated M&E firms in the North West and is actively expanding its workforce due to its strong reputation and growing demand for its sustainability offering. They offer a comprehensive range of sustainable design solutions, including decarbonisation studies, building system sizing, dynamic thermal modeling, comfort and environmental analysis, and net-zero carbon building design, all in line with the government's net-zero 2050 goals. They collaborate with current and new construction projects in all sectors, both locally and nationally, intending to become leaders in building decarbonisation and sustainable design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with a highly experienced team of design engineers on 3D/thermal modeling
• Conduct thermal modeling calculations using IES software
• Assist in the preparation of energy assessments and audits
• Provide support to senior engineers in the design of low-carbon building service solutions
• Assist in leading project delivery in SAP/IES to attain compliance

As a Thermal Modeller you would need:

• Relevant degree qualifications in Building Services & Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in building services and mechanical engineering preferably in a design consultancy environment
• Proven experience in the usage of IES/SAP thermal modeling software
• Technical understanding of mechanical engineering HVAC systems
• Experience of using AutoCad
• Proven experience of BREEAM / LEED rating systems
• Ability to interpret energy-related systems found in mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
• Good problem-solving skills and report-writing skills
• An appreciation of sustainability, renewable energy technologies, thermodynamics, and energy systems are essential
