Due to our continued growth into the data centre sector, we are looking to recruit Principal Electrical and Principal Mechanical Engineers ideally with Data Centre experience to lead a multi-disciplined team on technically challenging projects in each of our UK Offices.

As a fast-paced, growing business; these roles will be responsible for managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business as a whole, whilst providing sound technical, design and contract management support.

Reporting into each office senior management; we’re looking for experienced professionals to provide sound technical, design and contract management support on both electrical and mechanical building services engineering disciplines, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met.

Key responsibilities will also include –

  • Contributing to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships
  • Managing a multi-disciplinary design team to ensure successful preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support
  • Working with other Principal Engineers to ensure quality and timely operation delivery for clients
  • Compiling specifications, drawings and relevant Contract documents and maintain the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
  • Acting as the lead engineer and liaising with the Client and external design team as necessary for the successful delivery of projects
  • Providing electrical or mechanical building engineering services design to buildings and infrastructure
  • Identifying scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the Change Control Process, maintain planning and cost control on all scope
  • Monitoring and taking responsibility for the profit and loss within the working team
  • Coordinating monthly financial reports, both internal management accounts and external applications for payment
  • The delivery of small to large scale projects from concept designs through to completion, executing building services engineering activities within the budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity
  • Negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, providing motivation and management
  • Team-building and supporting the team through training and mentoring

The successful candidate will have –

  • A relevant degree in electrical or mechanical building services engineering, or equivalent qualification, or sufficient suitable experience
  • The ability to demonstrate extensive experience of a wide range of technical areas
  • Sound level of knowledge at Senior/Principal Engineer level and managing a team
  • Desirable experience of Data Centre projects
  • An appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling in the design of buildings
  • Associate or student member of an appropriate professional body, such as CIBSE, IET
  • Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Technical Electrical or Mechanical knowledge and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process
  • Results orientated individual with strong problem solving, technical realisation and coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Computer literate include Autodesk Suite, ProDesign, lighting software and Microsoft Office
  • Current UK driving licence
