Associate Sustainability Engineer - £55,000 - £65,000 - Manchester

Sure, prestigious awards such as "CIBSE Building Performance Consultancy of the Year" and "Climate Resilience Award" and memberships to the "World Green Building Council, Advancing Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment" are a pretty good indicator of a consultancy's stance and approach to Sustainability and Building Physics.

Driven by performance-based design, this inclusive and diverse global engineering consultancy has been at the very forefront of innovation, within the built environment for the past 20 years.

Although not as large as an Aecom, Arup or WSP, they regularly compete against these practices for the same type of projects, and do partner with the same high-profile Architects.

However, unlike these larger firms, here you'll get to lead the projects you work on (rather than being one of four or five consultants working on one project) and also get to work alongside the Directors and Partners as well as the discipline heads of department.

Due to consistent growth across the North West of England they are looking for an Associate Sustainability Consultant (Or Associate Sustainability Engineer) for their Manchester office. Situated walking distance to Manchester Piccadilly. Their open place office overlooks the river and has recently been refurbished, to make your time at work as comfortable and productive as possible.

Working as part of a dedicated Building Performance Engineering and Sustainability Team, you'll be responsible for providing a whole life carbon approach to all projects and promote a circular economy.

In addition to the standard employee benefits, you'll also enjoy a true "flexible" hybrid working policy, the option of working from abroad for up to one month at a time, free breakfast or free lunch, and a personalised CPD program to enable you to achieve your true potential.

You'll use a range of environmental benchmarking methodologies such as Well, Nabers and Passivhaus to ensure that the buildings you design tread more lightly on the planet, and promote a more regenerative society.

You'll use your own knowledge and also that of the team to create low energy strategies, assist with certain elements on master-planning projects, carry out reviews on LZC technologies and actively promote greater health and well-being.

You'll also develop complimentary skills in areas such as LCA and WLC, Building Performance Engineering, Automation and Digital Twin technologies.

As a Associate Sustainability Engineer, you'll essentially be responsible for helping clients achieve their sustainability and NZC aspirations on projects, and help save the world, one building or development at a time.

Please note, this employer is committed to diversity and inclusion.

We welcome individuals regardless of identity, personal characteristics or background.
