Your new role
Your new role is to be a Team Manager / Principal Occupational Therapist within the Adult Social Care department of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
You will be acting as a specialist advisor to all OT services to support and develop the delivery of a highly specialist, expert and diverse OT service to a complex caseload of service users. You will be responsible in ensuring the consistent and effective delivery of the Solihull Adult Social Care offer to Solihull citizens. You will also be responsible for ensuring OT staff have the necessary skills and support to enable them to provide high quality care and treatment.
This is an essential car user post as the demands of the job make it operationally essential and there is a contractual requirement to make a suitable vehicle available to ensure the requirements of the job can be carried out effectively. Applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and be a car owner, however for disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
The post holder will be required to comply with West Midlands Police Vetting procedure to ensure access to police premises, information and/or systems.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role, you must have a professional OT qualification or equivalent - DIPCOT, BScOT. You must be HCPC registered and have management experience.
You must comply to an enhanced DBS check and must have a driving license.
It is essential that you have excellent leadership skills, highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to respond positively to challenging situations. You must be an excellent planner with IT skills to navigate through basic IT packages.
Ideally you would have had substantial post-qualifying experience in Occupational Therapy Services.
