Mechanical Estimator

My client is a M&E Design & Build Contractor based in Dorset with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors including MoJ, MoD, NHS, Commercial, Education (including special needs schools) and Care Homes.

They are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their business. This Contractor has long standing relationships with some of the leading Main Contractors (ISG, Wilmot Dixon, Knights Brown and Acheson (among others).

The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for estimating the costs of mechanical engineering projects, preparing tenders and proposals, and developing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of detailed mechanical estimates for M&E projects, ranging from £2m to £20m in value.
• Ensure the accuracy of cost estimates, taking into account all aspects of the project including labour, materials, plant and equipment, and subcontractors.
• Work closely with the Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Attend pre-tender site visits and meetings.
