Our client provide specialised Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineering within Semiconductor, Data Centre and Battery Manufacturing sectors. They are a small specialised MEP design consultancy, with around 12 employees in total, that bring industry-leading innovation & experience to their core sectors. They are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Glasgow office. This company has major clients in Europe and therefore travel will be required every few weeks or so. Trips tend to last for a couple days at a time. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for an Engineer looking to provide cutting edge design to specialist projects that you won't get exposure to anywhere else in the industry. Your new role

• Maintain, enhance and apply both design and technical knowledge ensuring production of high-quality drawings.
• Electrical design of lighting, LV supply and small power distribution, earthing and lightning protection, fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services, low current and extra low voltage services, automatic controls, BMS as well as other related electrical utility systems as assigned.
• Preparation of electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Participate in the design progress and coordination meetings.
• Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings and any other contract documents developed through the RIBA work stages.
• Attend tender / client interviews.
• Attend site inspection meetings.
• Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other designers.
• Quality assurance

What you'll need to succeed

• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent certified Electrical Engineer.
• Revit, AutoCAD and BIM Environment.
• Use knowledge of electrical design software
• Use knowledge of electrical building services to educate designs (HV/LV Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Lighting Control, Fire Alarms, Communication Systems, Lightning Protection, Security and Access Control etc.).
• A minimum 2 years post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
• Full UK driving licence
• Ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer
