This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy specialises in designing and delivering low carbon and zero carbon projects across the UK.

They are recognised by CIBSE for their contribution to improving building performance engineering and best practice, net zero carbon building design.

As a Junior Building Physics (Building Performance) Engineer you'll be mentored a director who has been at the forefront of green building design for over 20 years. Having initially completed a degree in Building Services and worked as a Mechanical Engineer before becoming a Building Physics Engineer, you'll learn how to embed sustainable, low energy and low carbon building principles into every project this practice undertakes.

You'll work in close collaboration with the inhouse Mechanical, Electrical and Sustainability Engineers and use IESVe to carry out dynamic thermal simulations and perform climate-based daylight and sunlight modelling, carry out overheating assessments and indoor comfort.

You'll also use IESVe to verify the effectiveness of proposed natural ventilation designs, and get involved with NZC technology feasibility studies, decarbonisation studies and optimising MEP plants.

You'll also get to interact with the Revit and BIM Designers and develop your understanding of how digital twin technology, AI and automation and "smart building" design can be used to improve a buildings health and well-being aspects, and also reduce their energy and carbon use.

As a Building Performance Engineer / Building Physics Engineer you'll get to work on fascinating range of projects including museums, theatres, schools and universities, hotels, listed buildings, super prime residential developments and high spec commercial offices.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Building Services, Architectural and Environmental Engineering or similar.
• Able to use IES and ideally also able to use Revit.
• At least one years' experience as a Building Physics / Sustainability Engineer.
• Good awareness of building services (Ie HVAC, solar glazing, MEP plant, net zero carbon design)
• Ideally a keen interest in Dynamo or Grasshopper.
