Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join this exciting team.

Job Summary: Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join this Building Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical design of a range of building projects, ensuring that they are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the mechanical design of a variety of building projects, from concept to completion.
• Working closely with clients, architects, and other members of the design team to ensure that the mechanical design meets their requirements and expectations.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior members of the team.
• Producing detailed mechanical design drawings and specifications.
• Undertaking site surveys and inspections as required.
• Ensuring that all designs comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Supporting the project management team in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required standard.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree in Building services or a related subject.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
• Significant experience in mechanical design within the building services sector.
• Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing.
• Experience in using relevant design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• A track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, architects, and other members of the design team.
