Job Details

Building Performance Engineer - £45K-£55K + Package

Putting the P, back into BPE.

Rather than just modelling for compliance, this building services consultancy is putting the performance, back into building performance engineering.

This is a great opportunity to develop your understanding of the net zero carbon landscape, including operational and embodied carbon and use your passion for Building Performance Engineering and IESVe.

As a Building Performance Engineer, you'll work on a variety of buildings across London, including commercial offices, universities, schools and hospitals.

You'll enjoy working as part of their dedicated Energy and Sustainability team of 20 individuals and use your understanding of MEP services and existing buildings to your full potential. Reporting to the Director of the Energy and Sustainability team, you'll have a clear career path to Associate in as little as two years.

You'll be seen and treated as a trusted advisor by clients and benefit from working on entire portfolios of buildings and assets, rather than just a single building. This will ensure you continue to develop your understanding of how existing occupied buildings actually operate, and what can be done from an engineering perspective in order to reduce their energy and carbon emissions.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a suitable field such as Sustainability, Building Services, Energy, Environmental or Architectural Engineering.
  • At least four years' experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience using IESVe and familiarity with Nabers, BREEAM, WELL or LEED.
  • Interested in L.E.T.I, the circular economy and decarbonisation.
  • Previous experience preparing fee proposals / fee bids.
  • Comfortable managing the production of models, drawings, reports and specifications to budgets and deadlines.
  • Able to supervise and coordinate the work of others, and mentor staff.

Benefits

  • 5% pension, 25 days leave and private medical insurance.
  • Ongoing CPD (ongoing on and off the job training)
  • Payment of Professional membership fees.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Cycle to work scheme and interest free season ticket loan.
  • Flexible, hybrid working arrangements tailored to your needs.
  • Clear path to Associate, typically within two to three years.
  • Reduced working week (35-hour week)
