Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - To £65K + 39 Days Annual leave
Rarely do I take a job brief from a client where the role seems to have it all.
Decent salary, excellent work life balance (31 days annual leave + 8 days bank holidays), full autonomy for leading varied and interesting projects. Plus, a genuine opportunity to help shape the MEP team, and a hybrid policy of just two days a week in their office.
As a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer you'll enjoy working on both refurbishment and new build projects including schools, commercial offices, leisure centres, libraries, museums, outdoor public spaces and parks and residential developments.
No two days will ever be the same as one day you could be designing the ventilation system for a swimming pool and the next you could be designing the HVAC systems of a listed museum.
You'll enjoy full autonomy for how things are done, and providing projects stay on track and remain profitable, you'll enjoy full autonomy for designing, managing ad delivering these projects. You'll interact closely with the other inhouse disciplines such as architecture, surveying, landscaping, and sustainability and enjoy taking projects all the way through RIBA Stages 0 - 7.
What's also interesting is that this role has only been created due to succession planning. The previous MEP Leader and a few M&E Design Engineers have retired, and hence you have the opportunity of starting from scratch.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- At least six years' experience as a HVAC Design Engineer.
- You will have seen several projects through from feasibility, concept, and detail design, right through to construction.
- Be able to use at least one of the recognised building services software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit MEP or AutoCAD.
- Ability to lead projects technically, whilst also being accountable for their financial success.
