Job Details

We welcome applications and employ aspiring and experienced engineers coming from a range of science and engineering backgrounds. Apart from the conventional "equal opportunities employer" or "complying with the Equality Act" statements, we can proudly and wholeheartedly say that our commitment is not only to eliminate and avoid discrimination, but to create an environment where our differences can be celebrated and valued.

Exceptional opportunities across our five offices for skilled and enthusiastic MEP, mechanical or electrical building services engineers, who are looking to be challenged in an interesting, meaningful, and rewarding role with one of the UK’s leading, award-winning MEP engineering practices; a practice that is owned by the people who work there and committed to leading the industry in tackling the challenges posed by the climate and biodiversity crises.

Based in either of our five vibrant offices, the Senior MEP Project Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, and Senior Electrical Engineer roles involve working in one of our multi-disciplinary MEP engineering groups, designing and delivering projects across a range of sectors, with duties covering all aspects from RIBA stage 0 to 7. Senior Engineers are capable of leading complex projects or aspects of large projects which involve design, project planning, managing junior resource, dealing directly with clients, design team members, contractors, and other stakeholders. Our aim is to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that really work for our clients and are beautifully integrated with the architecture and structure.

You will have at least 6 years’ experience in a MEP consultancy, leading on the planning and delivery of MEP projects, including managing resources, prioritising varied workloads and independently generating and developing ideas; you will also have a detailed understanding of HVAC system design.

Holding a relevant degree qualification, you will be chartered, or ready to apply for chartered status, along with experience working with digital design tools like AutoCAD and Revit. Additionally, good people management skills are essential, as well as an open attitude towards communicating and working collaboratively with others.

At Max Fordham we are passionate about providing beautifully engineered, low energy buildings, and pride ourselves on providing an open and supportive environment for our employees and partners. Some of our benefits include:

  • Excellent growth opportunities for your personal and career development in a knowledge driven environment
  • Mentored support towards professional accreditation
  • An annual professional institution subscription
  • Interesting and technically challenging projects
  • An inclusive culture and cooperative environment
  • Opportunities for involvement in business-running activities
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Competitive pay and employee bonus
  • Future opportunities for Partnership
  • Six weeks holiday (including Bank holidays)
  • Max Fordham Pension Scheme
  • Other benefits include generous paid parental leave, sick pay, and treatment pay.
