Your new company
A locally owned Belfast consultancy who specialise in providing independent Building Services Commissioning Management Services to the Construction & Building Services industry are currently seeking a Junior M&E Commissioning Manager to join their team.
With over 25 years' management experience they offer a complete commissioning & handover service including the management of all Building Services Commissioning activities for Main & Building Services Contractors throughout the United Kingdom in sectors such as Office Accommodation, Nuclear Research Facilities, Specialist Waste Centres, Data Management Centres, Production Factories and many more.
Your new role
The successful candidate will receive ongoing training and support in order to carry out the below responsibilities:
- Assessing design drawings and specifications to complete commission-ability reviews
- Developing commissioning programmes and providing regular updates on progress
- Reviewing and assisting contractors/sub-contractors in the development of all project-related QA/QC documentation, providing technical input to the formal change control processes
- Reviewing commissioning RAMS prior to commissioning activities commencing
- Managing commissioning procedures providing regular reports on progress as required
- Reviewing and validating commissioning data against design parameters implementing any mitigation or recovery plans
- Holding commissioning meetings with sub-contractors, main contractors, and clients
- Creating and managing Handover commissioning checklists
- Ensuring that all plant/systems have been fully commissioned/inspected in line with the contract specifications
- Ensuring that commissioning defects are communicated properly and closed out
- Reviewing all appropriate commissioning handover documentation prior to handover
- Coordinating end-user witnessing and training
- Commenting on O&M manuals produced by the contractor
What you'll need to succeed
- Have technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or building control systems.
- Hold recognised qualifications or relevant experience in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services Engineering
- Previous experience working within the building services industry either from a design or project based role
- Excellent IT, planning, and reporting skills are essential.
- The ability to review design drawings, specifications and technical submittals
- Strong use of Microsoft suite of software.
- Ability to develop good, positive relationships with all parties involved in the commissioning delivery process.
- Previous management experience is desirable but not essential.
