HEAD OF ASSET MANAGEMENT GRADE 9
£59,421 - £73,043 pa
The role of the Head of Asset Management is to provide active leadership and guidance in developing the strategic and operational direction of asset management in the University. This is essential in ensuring that the university estate fulfils its primary purpose of supporting the successful delivery of teaching, research, and wider academic life within the University through optimal management of its built assets.
The University’s diverse Estate includes assets from many architectural eras between Georgian and modern contemporary, including cutting edge technical research facilities, residences and heritage buildings. This provides many challenges in maintaining and servicing such a diverse estate.
The Head of Asset Management, as a strategist and senior operational manager, will lead a multi-disciplinary team tasked with leveraging increased value from the estate, by transforming the approach to managing performance and condition of assets and embracing the digital future. This includes responsibly for a Service Hub, Planning & Performance Manager, Facilities/Asset Managers, Maintenance Surveyors, PPM/CAFM Systems.
The successful candidate will be a natural diplomat, negotiator and networker and will be as comfortable setting standards and policy with senior stakeholders as they are delving into the detail and dealing with operational colleagues.
Motivated by ‘doing the right thing’ they will have a critical focus on outcomes, impact and performance which will characterise continuous improvement of the assets for the users of the University Estate.
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received.
