North Tyneside Council is looking for a highly motivated Building Services Electrical Design Engineer who will become part of the in-house multi-disciplinary Design Team within the Housing and Property Services department of the Council to deliver the Authority’s Housing and Public Buildings statutory compliance related activity and capital works programmes.
Working alongside our Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer, the successful candidate will oversee delivery of M&E design packages for the diverse programme of works generated by the Council over its owned properties and assets. This includes but is not limited to five leisure centres, seventy-eight schools, alongside a range of libraries and museums.
The postholder will be required to ensure the delivery of a range of technical compliance activities, including condition surveys, reports, drawings, specifications and all other related project documents are delivered on time and to budget, quality & regulatory standards.
The successful individual will preferably have experience within the Building Services industry and shall be familiar with RIBA stages 0 to 7 and shall be able to provide fully detailed mechanical design packages which shall include specifications, schedules, drawings and required reports.
The role will also include the management of external Consultants and preparation and delivery of reports on existing premises and preparation of briefing particulars to relevant specialists for tender.
The applicant must be able to meet the physical and travel requirements of the post and shall be proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES etc.

The salary is £41,418.00 - £45,441.00 per annum
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and a Standard DBS disclosure will be required.
