Founded more than 45 years ago, this established and experienced Building Services Contractor are specialists in delivering Mechanical, Electrical, Ventilation and Air Conditioning solutions across the UK and Ireland. Due to impressive bid success and an increased secure workload, they are currently seeking a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager to oversee large scale projects in the UK / ROI.

Your new role
This is an opportunity for a Mechanical Pre-Contract, commercial-biased professional to expand their skills and take a unique step forward within this highly successful company.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Building Services Design process to ensure deliverables are produced on schedule and budget
  • Advise on the selection of materials and other aspects of procurement
  • Engagement with key specialist subcontractors to facilitate completion of design
  • Ensure design compliant with current legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Engage with the commercial and estimating teams to brief them on the agreed scope of works for each scheme
  • Engage with the client to discuss and review proposals to ensure they meet with client expectations
  • Identify and action potential risks, opportunities and hazards

What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria:

  • Experience managing mechanical large-scale contracts
  • Previous experience in a similar role or from an MEP Consultancy background
  • Excellent attention to detail and effective communicator.
  • Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes and design coordination
  • Good commercial understanding of the Pre-Contract tender process.
  • Experienced user of MS Office suite.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A relevant third level education
