Job Details

Sustainability Consultant (IES Client Side) Leeds/Manchester - to £39,000 + c.10% Bonus + Pension 12% + Package.

Would you like to be in a position with direct access to clients, in an energy role in which you will achieve the highest levels of sustainability across the lifecycle of landmark building portfolios?

Then it is worth considering a career move into the Sustainability team one of the world’s leading and most respected Property Consultancies.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with a variety of Real Estate clients to advise them on the delivery of Net Zero and ESG strategies. You will be an expert on key sustainability topics and help to implement and manage sustainability programmes along with implementing efficiency measures. You will support the energy consulting and certification services for new and existing buildings.

Over the past 15 years, this global Property Consultancy has developed its own internal Energy Infrastructure and Sustainability Consulting team, which aims to meet and deliver sustainable solutions to their clients, who are some of the largest owners and occupiers of real estate estates portfolios globally.

Effectively, a client-side role that could represent a very sensible career move for numerous reasons, including offering the opportunity for you to have direct access to the client, working as part of the client’s consultancy team and acting as the client’s representative on projects.

By far the most attractive aspect of joining such a business is the scale and sheer volume of buildings you can affect from a sustainability perspective. Rather than just focusing a single building, you’ll get to have a huge influence on a client’s portfolio of buildings which in most cases multiple buildings for one client. Providing you with an opportunity to make a huge environmental impact across large portfolios of buildings, rather than one or two buildings at a time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and rapidly expanding sustainability consultancy, working with a diverse client base to develop and support them in delivering their objectives.

You will support the energy consulting and certification services for new and existing buildings, whilst working with like-minded professionals in an innovative, dedicated and collaborative team environment.

The following minimum requirements form a key part of this role with the desirable requirements being an opportunity to demonstrate industry experience and knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience using energy simulation software, ideally IES
  • Demonstrate experience in the design and delivery of energy analysis, legislative compliance, and energy auditing.
  • Experience in routine reporting internally and externally for client stakeholders
  • Evident passion to drive energy efficiency within the built environment
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team focused environment and work individually.
  • Highly motivated and self-assured individual with drive for self-development

Desirable Expertise

  • Experience designing HVAC systems in the commercial property sector.
  • Demonstrate experience of operating within the commercial property sector
  • Working knowledge of building certification standards like BREEAM, LEED, WELL or Fitwel
  • Working experience of conducting advanced data analytics including energy modelling and life cycle analysis (LCA)

In summary:

We’re looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join a truly global business to work on major client relationships, with the full support of the Associates and Directors within the business.

With direct access to a variety of Real Estate clients, you’ll be working from inception, at the very earliest of project stages, way before that of a traditional consultancy, ensuring their strategies are implemented at building level.

Offering absolute career stability and with growth in mind, due to their success, this global Commercial Property Consultancy has a clear plan to grow their sustainability team over the next three years, opening a huge and ongoing career opportunity.

You will join an energetic, highly innovative, collaborative and rapidly expanding sustainability consultancy team.  With strong client relationship and programme management skills, you will thrive in this client facing role.

Over the last 10 years Talent Motion has worked in partnership with the world’s leading Commercial Property consultancies, developing hugely successful Sustainability, Energy, ESG & NZC teams. Such a move would set you apart from your peers by developing a unique and clear understanding of the sustainability drivers behind property ownership and development.

If you’re passionate about creating a sustainable future across real estate and this role interests you, then please get in touch for more details.
