We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious consultancy firm known for its award-winning multidisciplinary services. The company specialises in mechanical and electrical building services designs, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions and lowering energy and running costs for clients. As a Mechanical Engineer in the M&E department based in Nottingham, you will:
- Assume responsibility for individual projects
- Prepare outline and detailed designs for tender, including specifications and drawings
- Write technical reports
- Conduct surveys and detailed calculations
- Liaise directly with clients and contractors
- Attend project and design team meetings both in the office and on-site
- Provide management and technical support to senior staff in daily office operations
- Engage in continuous professional development
- Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and quality management systems
What you'll need to succeed
- HNC/D or degree in a relevant field (degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate design experience in consultancy or contracting
- Understanding of current building regulations and the construction industry design and procurement process
- Familiarity with CIBSE guides
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES, and Hevacomp (or equivalent)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivation and ambition to progress
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage your own workload
