SALARY– 35,000 to 45,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Whitstable. This role involves designing and developing mechanical components and systems for a variety of applications, working within a dynamic engineering team.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

SALARY– 35,000 to 45,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Whitstable. This role involves designing and developing mechanical components and systems for a variety of applications, working within a dynamic engineering team.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Knowledge of materials, machining, and fabrication processes
- Experience with designing for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA)
- Strong problem–solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of industry standards and regulations
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
- Producing detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and BOMs
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturing
- Conducting design analysis, calculations, and validation testing
- Troubleshooting design issues and implementing improvements
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Supporting new product development initiatives
- Liaising with suppliers and customers regarding technical specifications
